Paper Abstract:      With the advancement of technology, the traditional method of teaching is no longer sufficient to accommodate the demands of learning in the generation of digital gaming, because learners are no longer satisfied with traditional teaching or dull learning processes. Game-based learning has become one of the effective instructional environment or pedagogical strategy for the new generations. Previous studies indicate that students’ learning experience would affect their learning achievement. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of usability of game-based learning system on students’ learning achievement. Fifty-six students were designed into two groups. Experimental group was asked to play the educational game with better usability. In the meantime, control group played the educational game with the same context but worse usability. Results of this study revealed that the students in the experimental group performed significantly better than those in the control group. The results indicated the importance of usability of game-based learning system. Suggestions for instructional designer are also provided in this study.
